Why is Emotional Intelligence Important?


Emotional intelligence is the number one predictor of success in the workplace and is the strongest driver of an individual’s personal and professional excellence. The higher an employee’s emotional intelligence, the greater the performance and impact on the organization. Emotional intelligence is crucial for fostering a positive and productive work environment, not only enhancing interpersonal skills but also playing a pivotal role in effective leadership, communication, motivation, and conflict resolution.

Emotional Intelligence is your ability to feel your emotions, combine them with your thinking, to then take action to manage your behavior and relationships. It underlies how you make decisions, your communication style, your general level of well being, and the personal fulfillment you experience.


Our brains are wired so that our first reaction to an event is always an emotional one as our brain's primary goal is survival. You cannot control this but you can control how you react to the emotions you feel and the thoughts that follow, as well as, the resulting decisions and behavior.       

This wired behavior does not change whether you are at home or at work and provides the foundation for how you operate on a day-to-day basis. As a result, emotional intelligence is the baseline for almost every single thing you do all day long.


This is how we operate as humans and it is important to bring this awareness, knowledge, and intelligence into the work setting. Emotional intelligence improves each employee's experience, increases empathy and acceptance, reduces conflict, increases collaboration, and bolsters the company culture.

About Rebecca

After studying Art History in college, Rebecca followed the path that she felt provided her with the most praise and acceptance from her family and society at large: she went to law school.  Years into her successful career at a large firm, Rebecca's heart grew louder and louder until one day she got up from her desk, walked to the partner's office, and resigned. The next stop in her rEvolutionary journey was to become a professional portrait photographer. Being self employed and running her own portrait studio provided Rebecca the freedom, flexibility, and creativity her heart craved.


Even though Rebecca had it all together on the outside, she lived a life of internal chaos and confusion until she understood that most of what she felt was not her own, but that she had access to energetic layers within her environment that allowed her to feel what others were thinking, feeling, and the patterns of what had been and what was to come.


In addition, Rebecca, a lifelong existentialist and seeker of truth, spent the vast majority of her life curious about the world we cannot see; about the big mysteries of life: who am I and what am I doing here? What is the purpose of all of this?  She knew there had to be more than meets the eye, she could feel it.  And from there she was drawn in to the immersive world of introspection, philosophy, quantum physics, transformation, neuroscience, nervous system regulation, emotional intelligence, and internal wisdom. She found her way to the most peaceful and joyful life, fully anchored in her own knowing, becoming an internally-led creator.



Rebecca now uses her skills, knowledge and insight to help others up level their lives and self mastery, offering coaching and trainings on both the personal, team and career/executive levels.


In addition to her BA in Art History and her Juris Doctorate, Rebecca has studied and is certified in life coaching, emotional intelligence, meditation and mindfulness, Theta Healing, Reiki, breath work, and neurolinguistic programming (NLP).
